He trains for up to five hours a day. "My heaviest day would be two or two-and-a-half hours of bouts, which is fencing opponents and doing different drills. Working on footwork. My second practice would be a lesson, which is technique work with my coach one-on-one. Then the last practice would be strength and conditioning." |

"I try to think about the competition as little as possible in the days leading up to it. It's impossible, but my philosophy is to try and stress as little as possible. I go to movies, eat my favourite food, get a lot of sleep, and joke around. I feel that it's easier to fence well if you're in a positive, happy state of mind."
