Her mother is Brazilian and her father is Italian-German. Having represented Italy at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she accepted an offer from the Brazilian Fencing Federation [GTP] in January 2014 to represent Brazil. (nathaliemoellhausen.com, 13 May 2015)

In 2010 she was employed as the artistic director for the opening ceremony of the 2010 World Championships in Paris, France. She also competed at the event. Following the 2012 Olympic Games in London, she took a two-year break from fencing in order to focus on her career outside of sport. In 2013 she worked as the art director for the 100th Anniversary Gala of the International Fencing Federation [FIE] in Paris, France. In 2018 she returned as art director for the FIE's 105th Anniversary celebrations.
