When and where did you begin this sport? She began fencing in 1993 at age 10 in Moscow, Russian Federation.
Why this sport? Her mother's friend knew a fencing coach and offered her the chance to try the sport. She turned out to be the only girl in the group but the fact that she could win against boys was a good incentive for her to continue.
