In early 2020 he began suffering from a shoulder injury, which was later found to be a tendon rupture. He did not train with the Iranian national team for 10 months as a result of the injury and the COVID-19 pandemic. COACHING In 2021 he began coaching the Iranian national youth team and the Mes Sungun team of the Iranian fencing league. In September 2022 he moved to Sweden and became head coach of LUGI Faktning. He has also served as a coach for the Swedish national cadet team.
