Sporting philosophy / motto |
"I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed." [Michael Jordan] (fundly.com, 26 Jun 2015) |

WEAPON HAND CHANGE At age eight she damaged a nerve in her dominant right hand. She thought she may have to give up sports altogether until her modern pentathlon coach suggested she switch fencing hands. "I thought I would never be able pursue the activities that I loved. Playing basketball, tennis, the piano or violin was out of question. My coaches from the pentathlon programme suggested that I switch hands and try to learn to fence with my left hand. It worked and my journey as an athlete began." (fundly.com, 26 Jun 2015)
