He followed in his father's footsteps. "Both family traditions and living a five-minute walk away from Primary School No. 70 in Gdansk, where many great fencers have been developed, certainly helped. The most important thing, however, was that I liked fencing from the very beginning. I still enjoy it, I still want to develop and achieve success." |

TRAINING IN ITALY
During the 2020/21 season he began to split his training between Poland and Italy. "During the COVID-19 pandemic it became obvious that there would not be many competitions taking place, so you had to train while waiting patiently for the competitions to start. For this reason I decided to move close to Rome, to Frascati Scherma, in my opinion the best foil club in the world today. Sparring with very good fencers, it was definitely easier to stay motivated to train through this difficult time." (dziennikbaltycki.pl, 07 Dec 2021)

His father Cezary Siess was part of the Poland squad that won bronze in the team foil event at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. "He has never been a coach, but he often gives me tips. However, it happens outside the gym, rather quietly at home. These are usually comments on how to act during a bout and on tactics. He does not interfere with my technique.
